We are a non-profit organization that works in partnership with the City of Lockport, the Greater Lockport Development Corporation, and grant opportunities to provide programming to the businesses and residents of Lockport, NY.
LMS Inc. operates annually on $70,000.00 of Organizational Funding. This budget covers basic expenses for all programs, organizational expenses, and salaries of staff. This funding is received from the Grigg Lewis Foundation: $35,000.00, GLDC: $17,500.00, City of LKPT Bed Tax Revenues: $17,500.00.
Additional grant funding is sourced annually to build opportunities for the Community. In 2017 LMS Inc. received $48,000.00 in additional funding to assist in specific programs.
$35,000.00 from the Yahoo! Community Benefit Fund towards marketing of businesses and LMS programs. $7,232.00 from Niagara County Department of Economic Development to assist with the Lockport Community Farmers Market and the production of the City of Lockport Visitors Guide. $6,000.00 from the Grigg Lewis Foundation towards the development of the Art on Main Street program.
Lockport Main Street was organized in 2008. Through the direction of our first Program Director, Heather Peck, LMS Inc. was established. The program was adopted from Main Street America, a national non-profit focused on developing downtowns all over the nation.
Through years of development and support LMS Inc. now stands as the central non-profit organization in the City of Lockport dedicated to Small Business Assistance, Community Programing, and Tourism Oversight.
